I do not have a file named microsoft user data in my documents folder or anywhere that I can identify on my computer. What do I try next?

No, that did not work either. There were no locks next to the keychains to edit. What next?

I went through several other similiar posts before making mine with no results. I've restarted several times. The only thing I have not done is uninstall and reinstall Word. Appreciate the suggestions though.

If this is your problem ...
Authentication session has timed out, please sign in again
and you're on a Mac running OS 10.13.6, this worked:
Open: Keychain Access
Search for: Microsoft
Delete: Microsoft Office Credentials
Then go log in again to your Microsoft account.
